When your freedom is at stake and your future ability to get a good job (certain jobs forever barred) or to pursue college (student loans denied upon certain convictions) or to drive a car (drivers license revoked upon conviction) ---- do you really want to hire the cheapest lawyer ???

 

Ultimately, you get about what you pay for  -----

pay a little and the lawyer works a little -----        

pay a reasonable fee and get reasonable work -----

pay a lot and you get a lot more work.

 

Did the bondsman refer you to a cheap lawyer to plead you out quickly so he can write another bond  and so you will pay the bondsman instead of a good lawyer?  Is that in your best interest?  Ask the lawyer WHEN was the last jury trial he did?  How he answers will tell you if the lawyer is a “WARRIOR”  or just a  BUSINESSMAN  looking to make fast money by pleading you guilty without fighting your case.  If he avoids answering the question, that is your answer.

Ask the lawyer that quotes a cheap fee if that includes motions hearings and if he will file a motion to quash the arrest and motion to suppress evidence for that amount?  Is he willing to go to trial for that cheap fee or is he going to do the bare minimum to plead you guilty?
